Knowing that a separate title dedicated to the art of Quidditch is en route, it would make little sense for the franchise to release a Quidditch DLC for Hogwarts Legacy, potentially cannibalizing sales.

In fact, those eager to hop on a broom and outplay their flying foes can sign up for the closed Quidditch Champions playtests, which have already offered some lucky players a sneak peek of the fast-paced, competitive game. Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions doesn't have a release date just yet, but playtesting has already begun, which indicates that the game may be close to finished. Even with the title's immense popularity, the prime window of opportunity for an expansion has already passed. By the time a prospective DLC releases, Hogwarts Legacy could be over a year old, and many people will have already finished the game through and through. The Nintendo Switch port is likely a priority for the developer, meaning that players probably won't see an expansion anytime soon - especially if there are intentions to make it available for the Switch. With the game still missing on an entire platform, it's not surprising that there has been a lack of news regarding Hogwarts Legacy DLC. Multiple delays have set it all the way back to November 14, 2023, indicating that Avalanche Software is still hard at work on the handheld port. Meanwhile, the Nintendo Switch version of Hogwarts Legacy has yet to release whatsoever. Over five months have passed since the initial launch of the game for PC and next-gen consoles in February, and two months have passed since its launch on current-gen consoles in May. The biggest underlying issue with a potential Hogwarts Legacy DLC is that its release would simply be too late.
